The 1000 Women for Stroger is a group of women which comprises elected
officials, businesswomen, nurses, lawyers, doctors, housewives, nurses,
college students, and many others. We are mothers, daughters, aunts, nieces,
and working mothers. As women of Cook County, we are committed to
re-electing Cook County Board President Todd H. Stroger. Since he was
elected in 2006, President Stroger has had many noteworthy accomplishments.
The accomplishments include producing four $3 billion dollar balanced
budgets, helping more than 25,000 families in Cook County avoid foreclosure,
hiring more women and Latino candidates for high level positions than any
other President in the county's 178 year history, and awarding more than 10
percent of county contracts to women-owned businesses. While in office,
President Stroger has demonstrated his committment to women and women's
issues. While he has had to make many tough decisions, President Stroger
remains dedicated to maintaining and improving the quality of life for all
of the women of Cook County.
